First off, Daniela Sea identifies as trans non-binary and uses they/them pronouns—so yes, Mr. Skin knows proper grammar, but he’s going to ignore it to stay in Daniela’s good graces. An actor, musician, writer, director, and artist, they have worked in film, theater, and on television. Daniela has the distinction of playing the first recurring transmasculine role in mainstream television, appearing as Moira, then Max Sweeney in the Showtime series The L Word from 2006-2009—where Mr. Skin is always impressed by the amount of skinematic scenes. Daniela’s nude form was not ignored in the show, either, and their beautiful bod is displayed in its full glory in more than one scene. Daniela replayed the bare-breasted moment as Calvin in the film Itty Bitty Titty Committee (2007), and also appeared in several other small films, including as the character Tami in Don’t Look Up (2009), Jerome Holleran in The Casserole Club (2011), Clarice Starling in The Pyrex Glitch (2012), and Silver in The Dead and the Living (2012). In addition to acting, the Malibu, California, native, who left home at age 16, has rocked out as a member of several San Francisco Bay-area punk bands, including their first, The Gr’ups when they were 19. Daniela has also been long involved in queer protest and art movements, and moved to Vienna, Austria, to pursue an MFA candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. They are impressive, to say the least, and Mr. Skin truly hopes he caught all any she and her.
